Our History
The founding of COMEGA
COMEGA is a spin-off of the Massachusetts Men’s Gathering, (MMG) which in turn spun off from Mainely Men, a semi-annual men’s gathering in Maine. COMEGA was founded in 1992 by Michael Chell, Paul Dunion, and Norbert Gauthier.

Our goal is to deepen men’s experience beyond limiting stereotypes toward greater authenticity by offering structured experiences of community that educate and foster growth of mind and heart. COMEGA hosts two annual weekend gatherings where men connect, reflect, and grow. We create an environment that invites trust and welcomes and respects differences. All men are welcome.
Through various rituals, workshops, and activities, both in small and large groups, we create an open, trusting, and non-competitive environment; an environment where men can takes risks, learn to share with one another – their life experiences, examine their strengths, limitations, dreams and hopes, and to express their talents. Men and youth are provided the opportunity to explore who they are, what it means to be masculine, and to experience deeper parts of themselves.
